Refund & Cancellation Policy

Clear answers on deposits, milestone payments, retainers, social media subscriptions, and how to cancel.

Effective date: October 9, 2026

We want every client to feel clear about how payments work before we start. This policy explains deposits, milestone payments, retainers, social media subscriptions, and how to cancel. It is part of our Terms & Conditions, and your written proposal or Agreement controls if anything differs.

1. Project deposits

One-time projects, such as a website or brand identity, require a 50% deposit before work begins. Because the deposit reserves time in our schedule and covers early strategy and design work, it is non-refundable once work has started. If Design It cancels a project before any work begins, your deposit will be refunded in full.

2. Milestone payments

Larger projects may be divided into milestones. Each milestone payment covers a specific phase of work. Payments for completed phases, or phases already in progress, are non-refundable. You will never be billed for a future milestone before the previous phase is delivered.

3. Final payments

The remaining project balance is due at completion, before final files are delivered or a website is launched or transferred. Once final deliverables are delivered and approved, the final payment is non-refundable.

4. Retainers and social media subscriptions
  1. Billing: creative partner retainers and social media subscriptions are billed monthly, in advance, on the 1st or the 15th of the month, as set in your Agreement.
  2. Renewal: your plan renews automatically each month until you cancel.
  3. How to cancel: give at least 30 days' written notice by emailing bryan@designit.design. Your plan ends at the close of the billing period in which the 30-day notice period ends. Work continues as normal during the notice period, and you will not be charged after your plan ends.
  4. Refunds: monthly payments are non-refundable once the billing period has started, and we do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. Unused retainer time does not roll over unless your Agreement says otherwise.
  5. Changes: any change to your monthly price will be shared with you in writing before it takes effect.
5. If you cancel a project

You may cancel a project at any time by letting us know in writing. The deposit and any milestone payments already made are kept to cover reserved time and work completed. If the value of work completed exceeds what you have paid, the difference will be invoiced. You will receive the work completed through the cancellation date once your account is paid.

6. If Design It cannot complete your project

In the rare case that Design It cannot finish your project, we will deliver the work completed so far and refund any amount you have paid for work that has not been performed.

7. Third-party costs

Costs paid to other companies, such as Webflow hosting, domains, fonts, stock images, plugins, and software subscriptions, are not refundable by Design It and are subject to each provider's own policies.

8. Questions or concerns

If something does not feel right, please reach out before disputing a charge. We will always work with you to find a fair solution.
